High Rocks Restaurant in Gladstone

Omg the food here is amazing. Our waitress was new so couldn't hello with dessert ideas. But that didn't matter she was a good waitress. I wish I could give them more starts for the steak I had tonight. The restaurant is darkly lit but it works well for the vibe they're going for.

Wanted to support our local restaurant for dinner big mistake!Prime Rib Friday to Monday starting at 5pm but you don’t get it till 5:45pm ordered (2) 12oz got 9oz but charged for 12oz asked for medium rare got well instead tasted like pot roast. Overcooked fries and baked potato was mashed potato in a foil with blob of butter and sour cream you would think for $25 plating would be top notch not cafeteria style!On a good note waitress excellent customer service very apologetic n clam chowder was excellent unfortunately did not get a discount for wait time n dissatisfied incorrect entree Definitely not going back!

Not a good impression. I'm usually very accepting of restaurants, especially if they are new. This one has been in town for a very long time and I expected more, maybe that's why I was so dissapointed. It took over 25 minutes to recieve our orders, which felt like forever because we didn't get much attention. My dad used to rate a place based on how full his coffee cup stayed, and I have a similar ideal with my soda. RC cola is dated and unappealing, much like the restaurant. The food tasted alright but nothing special, I've had this quality everywhere. I got the combo basket and most of my tartar sauce ended in the basket, not a great design. It was over $80 for 4 of us, and it sure didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Every table also is half a booth so if you're not a fan... anyways it's just a bar with food, if you're expecting a dining experience you'll be dissapointed

Great entertainment! Good food

Had the blackened chicken on special $10.95 and it was still not worth it. The chicken was ok at least it was cooked well but the FREEZER VEGGIES were the worst thing I have ever received from a restaurant. My friends got fried foods and said they were good so only come if you want FRIED FOOD. It's more of a bar menu.

Worst service I have seen in awhile. I understand you have to do a shift change. But, can you acknowledge my presence. Tell it will be a few a minutes. Not straight ignore me. No red bull either. They have Top Fuel. Whoop whoop! Whatever that is.

We came into Hight Rocks for food and drinks. Our waitress was helping one table of 4. After 10 minutes of not being acknowledged we went to the bar to order a drink. After 10 more minutes the waitress came and gave us menus. We had to go to the bar once again to order a drink since she never came back. After 30 minutes we ordered food. After 1hr and 15 minutes we noticed a table of 4 was getting their food....they arrived 30 minutes after us! We found out it they were Friends with the owner and a waitress was sitting with them. They were a priority over us. Very disappointed.

They did a great job in helping with our surprise party in a private room. Food is good, bartender that night could have been nicer

Comfy, nice service and food

Was looking forward to having lunch there. Looks of place is nice, but if ur not a regular you will have to flag down the waitress. Ordered the fish and chips after pouring the grease off the fish and wiping it off I reluctantly ate sum to only go home and later get very sick. Don't like to complain but I don't recommend the fish at all.☠😷

The food was pretty good. I think this place switched ownership a couple years ago and I think its better than it was before. They seem like they are taking better care of the place. My only complaint is that the waitress repeatedly got my order wrong which was frustrating on an empty stomach and I guess I was pretty grumpy. But I like to give the benefit of the doubt. In the end I got the food I wanted and she was a very nice lady who got a well deserved tip. All is well that ends well.

Food and service were really great. Rib eye steak was perfectly cooked and flavor was amazing.

Great community, atmosphere is one of a kind. Like going up to the mountain in the winter, this place will make you feel at home. Make certain to ask about their specials. Table side service makes everyone feel special.

APPETIZERS SHOULD BE TO THE TABLE WITHIN 5-7 MINUTES!! If not, take the item off the appetizer menu. I found myself here twice over the last week. Both times, I ordered the "steak bites" appetizer. Both times I was the only person in the place ordering food (everyone else was just drinking judging by the hour I spent there). Both times it took 35-40 minutes to be served AN APPETIZER. Better yet, a medium-rare appetizer that should only take 3-5 minutes to prepare. Was it delicious? YES. Will I come back? No, it's not a place I care to spend that much time in.

Great fish and chips! Awesome wait staff. Nice dining on one side with a cool fire place and history and fun dive bar on the other.

I only go there for the rib eye steak, it's pretty good price for the service and the rib eye is 4 star quality.

Service was slow and there was barely anyone there, my party pays the bill and steps in the smoking area while we wait for our to go order and we come back in and our waitress bombarded us asking us why we didn’t tip in front of the bartender and other customers and takes her mask off while doing so. We also got our appetizers the same time our food came which was probably an hour after we ordered and it was dead. I don’t care how good their teriyaki meatballs are, I will not be going there again. How unprofessional.

Not many people at restaurant so parking was easy. Handicap parking is close just that ramp is quite a ways from it. Our 91 year old mother had a little bit of a time accessing. The lighting has improved inside immensely since we were there some time ago. MUCH better atmosphere. One server. Might want to consider dishwasher or busser to help out. Food came in stages. Food was worth the wait. Our 16 year old like her food. Kind of a rare feat for a restaurant with a bit of a picky descriminating eater. Steak was eclxcellent. Prices fair for what we ordered. Will be going back.

Our family booked a Xmas eve gathering. There was one waitress bar tender for the whole restaurant and bar. She did a great job of checking in on us and taking drink orders but when it came time to pay, had no idea what everyone ordered, if it was going on one tab or separate and creating bills for us. The holiday menu looked great but when our food came is was awful! Deli sliced meat for roast beef, dry potatoes, over cooked and cold vegetables. Very disappointing!! We spent a lot of money there, invited our family for a holiday meal and everyone left frustrated and hungry! I’ve spent my whole life eating drinking at High Rocks and was happy to give them our business. Seems the quality and restaurant are going down hill.

Great neighborhood watering hole. Waitress are very nice and the food and drinks are always good. A fun crowd.

Went there for lunch to take a disabled cousin of the family who wanted steak for his birthday. They only offer steak for breakfast or dinner outside of steak strips appetizers. So he had a burger instead as well as one of the other party, which they both enjoyed. I ordered the seafood combo plate and as the cod was good as expected prawns were small in meat and fluffed looking bigger with breading, and they charge more for those. Staff was amazing and I would hope they would be if it was busy at all. This place has a nice atmosphere including a fireplace with a simple good food menu. They need to invest in the parking lot big time as parking spaces are almost judgemental and I would recommend ripping out all the carpet as it looks like it , well you should not have carpet in a place that bears or ranch dressing spills . Let me finish by saying, customer service was excellent.

They make frozen drinks and people working there are super nice.

This place was great! The food was good, service was nice, atmosphere is relaxing, and the prices are decent. Got the Tuesday Steak Night Dinner, two steaks/pork chops for $24-$28. Sat in the restaurant area, but next time will sit at the bar.

Bumping this chicken up to five stars. New owners are really improving the place. Also used their little banquet room for a party and it worked out great.
